About the event
The Regency era saw the introduction of the partner Waltz to the English Ballroom. While recognizable to the modern dancer, there are some style points that distinguish Waltz as danced in the first quarter of the 19th century. Such Waltzes will be a feature of The Steplively Valentine’s Ball Dance Programme.
Receive instruction in the basics, and some variations as ability level allows. A lesson will be conducted from 2:30 – 4:00, with supervised open floor practice time from 4:00 – 4:30. During this last half-hour, Mr. Steplively will be able to give individualized pointers while dancers practice what they have learned.
NO PARTNER OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – HOWEVER BRINGING SOMEONE WITH YOU WILL HELP ENSURE MORE EVEN DISTRIBUTION OF PARTNERS. PARTNERS WILL ROTATE AS PART OF CLASS INSTRUCTION.
